You have the right to clear, consistent, reciprocal, and accessible communication between you and your child’s school. It is important that you feel welcome and included!
1. Is there someone at the school or district who works directly with families and/or communities? If so, how can I contact them?
Yes! The MLL teacher works with multilingual learners in PreK through Grade 12. She is able to support families, answer questions, help schedule meetings, find resources, or provide an interpreter. Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions, or to check-in or chat!
2. How often should I expect to hear from teachers or the school, and how can I reach out when I have questions or concerns?
You will receive email communications from your child’s school with updates and important information.
Each teacher may communicate individually, but you may contact teachers directly via email with any questions or concerns.

3. Does the district offer free translation and/or interpretation services?
Yes, you may request an interpreter for any meeting or phone call. All printed communications from the school’s office/s can be translated to your home language.
5. Is there anything important I should know about how things work at school?
You can access information about your student’s grades and attendance (grades 5-12) in PowerSchool.
