The Narragansett School System is pleased to welcome Colleen Johnson as the new Assistant Principal of Narragansett High School. She was officially welcomed into the role at a special School Committee meeting held on the evening of April 28th, 2021.
Johnson most recently served as Assistant Principal of Scituate Middle and High School with prior administrative and educational experience in districts such as Cranston, Westerly, and West Warwick. A graduate of University of Rhode Island, she received her Masters of School Administration from Providence College and holds certifications in Mathematics as well as Building Administration. It was quickly evident that she has created her mark as an educator throughout her career as she fully embodies the passion and dedication for student success, which is a shared sentiment among her peers and former colleagues.
Superintendent Dr. Peter Cummings stated, “Our search to fill this position focused on finding a candidate that was not only experienced in all aspects of administration and could grow within the role, but could also connect with our student body and help nurture and develop their success while here in Narragansett. With Colleen, we believe we found just that.”
Johnson shared that she is happy to continue and develop her work in a smaller district and looks forward meeting the entire high school faculty and staff, which will take place next week. She was recently married last year and currently resides in North Kingstown.
